What to Expect on Your First Visit

On your first visit to Austin City Dental, we will have you fill out some new patient forms – please either come 15 minutes earlier than your reserved appointment time, or complete the forms digitally and securely beforehand (they can be accessed here). We will take intra-oral photos and digital x-rays in order to help us diagnose tooth decay (as well as to evaluate your bone levels, periodontal health and jaw joints). Your doctor will also complete a thorough, comprehensive examination. We treat many dental phobics and have options for sedation dentistry. Please inquire for more information.

History

For more than 50 years, Austin City Dental has been one of Austin’s best and most successful dental practices. The practice was originally at the Norwood Tower, one of the first structures West of the Mississippi River to have air-conditioning! In the early 1970’s, Dr. Goldsmith and several other Austin dentists decided to build and move into a new office building, which became known as the ‘Golden Molar,’ due to its shiny gold-tinted windows and large number of dental practices there. Although the gold-tinted windows have long been replaced, we are still here. In 2006, Steven Cook, DDS purchased the practice after returning to Texas from Seattle. Dr. Cook is committed to carrying on the legacy of excellent care set by Dr. Goldsmith and those that came before him. Austin City Dental has a long history of serving the citizens of Central Texas and we look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come.
